Installing on a single Chromebook
The fastest way to see what Readable can do on your own device.
- Visit the Readable for Chrome listing in the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension when Chrome prompts.
- The Readable for Chrome icon appears in the Chrome toolbar — click it once to open Settings, or visit any web page to see the floating toolbar.
- The first time the toolbar appears, take 30 seconds in Settings → Speech to pick a voice you like. Press Test voice to hear it.
- Read our help guide for the full feature tour, or just start using it — hover over text and Readable will speak.
Installing on a personal device doesn't preclude managed deployment later. School-wide rollouts can override or align with anything users have set on their own.

What happens next
If you've installed
Visit any web page. The Readable toolbar appears. Hover over text to hear it spoken. Click the gear to open Settings and configure to taste. Read the help guide when you're ready for the deeper tour.
If you've requested an evaluation
We'll reply within one working day. Expect a short call to understand your fleet, agree on scope, and walk through managed-policy options. We'll set up a pilot OU and gather feedback over the trial period.
